Dexter Season 8 final season confirmed

In a recent interview to TV guide, Sara Colleton confirmed Dexter Season 8 to be the final season of the series.

I like how Laguerta died in the same place that she dies in the very first book. Bravo for following the book but not for waiting 7 seasons to do it. I can't think of a single story line or scene that I ever liked with her. Aside obviously from the story arc leading to her death

Hannah must be back and be responsible for bringing Dexter down. That would be a fair game. Before that happens, he can continue with his usual "activities," doing what he does best and remain likable to the audience. At the end, he will pay for his betrayal, but take his dark secret with him to his grave. Hannah can raise Dexter's son as an eternal punishment and a constant reminder of what she had, why she had it, and what she is left to leave with... After all, little Harrison asked for her, and Deb is in no shape or form to do the job. She should leave the force and live off anxiety pills as a spinster. She will forever remain haunted by memories of the brother she once had and loved.

I just became a 'DEXTER' fan with having watched almost all the prior episodes on Friday nights for the last six months. I think that Michael Hall does a great job of portraying a likeable serial killer that should go ten seasons instead of eight. I really enjoy the way the writers keep the show fresh with new characters and story twists. I think that the producers should consider how popular the show has become now and keep it running for ten years and not end it this year!!

I would most certainly agree, however It has been announced that Season 8 is going to be the last season, which will be sad for Dexter's fans.

I believe that if DEXTER is to end at season 8 that the producers and writers should develop a spin off show called DEBSTER where we see her become the super serial killer that uses machine guns to mow down 100s of bad guys at one time inside the prisons of America. This will help relieve the prison population overcrowding.
Please have DEXTER join the AVENGERS next movie as a super hero that can sneak up on mean aliens and knock them out with his animal tranquilizers and then put them on his table to be sent into orbit around the earth like satellite body bags.

I researched DEXTER on Wikipedia and found all 8 seasons episode titles except for the last three which have not been titled yet. I am hoping the reason for this lack of titles is because the producers are thinking about extending DEXTER to nine seasons. DEXTER is a great cable TV crime drama and Michael Hall does such a great job of capturing the essence of what a likable serial killer should be, therefore the series should never end but get a 'spin off' show.
The executive producers should seriously consider a good 'spin off' show that has DEXTER making guest appearances so he won't die or go to jail but retire someplace after he trains a good replacement character like Hannah or Debra.
